ALL THAT GLITTERS!

What could be a better time of the year to sparkle and shine in a gorgeous sequin top or jacket than Christmas and New Year's Eve?

Did you know that by wearing sequins and metallics closer to the face it actually gives the effect of a more youthful appearance?  The reflective qualities of these fabrics uplift and illuminate your complexion. Perfect if you are looking a bit tired or are just feeling a bit blurrrr!

The uniform for a lot of women is black and how often do you just throw on the nearest drab old black top (like mine below) and a pair of jeans. An easy look but so uninspiring right?

Sequins can be worn dressed up or dressed down with your favourite t-shirt, pair of jeans, and lovely heels. I bought this pretty taupe coloured jacket from Mango a few years ago. I like that it's not too 'blingy', the colour is a little more subtle and looks cool with a pair of jeans, black t-shirt and these taupe shoe boots. The cropped length helps to elongate the legs (mine are rather short in comparison to my upper body).

This black and gold sequin top is my go to festive season top. Once again from Mango a few years back, it just always jumps out at me and yells "wear me"!  Always attracted to anything gold, I love how the sequins break up what would just be a rather boring, plain black t-shirt.

Now to really make your look pop and be party ready, add some great earrings, a gorgeous bright pink or red lipstick (I know this is scary for some of you but it really lifts your skin tone and makes your teeth appear whiter),some heels and a fashionable clutch.

When it comes to sequins, keep it simple and limit to one item per outfit. Too much and you could be over doing it (Liberace on acid comes to mind!).

Why not make a statement this Christmas and New Year? Give sequins a try.

SHINE, SHINE, SHINE!

MERRY CHRISTMAS
&
A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!
